Check out the PLCM7500, an awesome video monitor/backup camera kit from
Pyle. This kit includes a waterproof, low-light-vision equipped,
universal mount color rear view camera and suction cup mount screen for
the inside of your car. The camera outputs crystal clear video over an
RCA jack - even in relatively low light. The 7" LCD monitor detects when
you back up and shows the camera on screen. Perfect for backing into
tight spots or moving in reverse when visibility is limited - it’s like
having an extra eye. It’s also equipped with a distance-line mode to
show you how far away you are from other objects in the camera’s
viewfinder. And with two video inputs, you can even use the monitor to
watch DVDs or video from any other source that outputs composite video.
Includes video and power cables, wireless remote control for monitor,
and instructions for mounting.
User Experience :
I recently purchased a PLCM 7500 back up camera, it is easy to wire, camera connects to the vehicle backup light wire( red to your back up power wire when in reverse, the black to ground). i wired my monitor to a fuse, using the black (ground wire) and red wire (positive). The remaining wires were not used, like the green wire from the wire harness to the monitor. The wires on the camera to monitor, were also not used, this is the pigtail coming from the video wire. the rest was easy. The 17' of cable was too short for my truck so when I ordered the backup camera I also order a 25 foot RCA cable. This worked great on my long bed, 4 door chevy silverado. Great picture and view on the camera monitor.
This gives an excellent view of the hitch on my pickup. The length of the wires to the engine compartment are barely long enough for a crew cab short bed pickup. They would not be long enough for a full length bed and crew cab. I did have to shim the camera downward to see the hitch.
