User Experience :
This is a practical, easy-to-clean blender that seems to me to be a good choice in its price range. For about twice as much, one can either get the Cuisinart CBT Hurricane Pro and for a little more than that, the Blendtec Total. I think there are lots of good blenders and I also have a two other blenders.
Salient points:
* My experience is that the most important thing is an integrated jar and blades for easy cleaning. This Hurricane blender has that.
* The 2.5 peak horsepower is good enough for most uses including seeds and nuts. For comparison, the Hurricane Pro has 3.5 horsepower.
* The positioning of the blade is good because it leaves less wasted food underneath it. For comparison, the Vitamix, a great blender, is likely to lead to more food waste due to the position of its blades.
* This Hurricane just fits on the counter under my kitchen cabinets. A Vitamin would not fit there. A Blendtec would though.
* The Hurricane is quieter crushing ice than blenders used to be, but no quieter than my other blenders and possibly more high-pitched.
* The 60-ounce jar is large and it's also made of durable copolyester. And there are replacements available in case it gets broken.
* The controls are super simple compared with other powerful blenders - just 6 main buttons and power up/down arrow buttons. I prefer simplicity.
I think for the price this is an excellent blender. It has a 3-year limited warranty, and with relatively little vibration in the base it seems that it will last for years.
